Bean Abundant - Business of Yoga

Creating an Identity

So, you've been teaching for a year or two, you've established a core base of students, and you think you're finding your 'voice'. Now what? It's time to move onto the next steps: marketing yourself. I'm sure you've already started this, building a website, making a business card and getting photos of yourself. This is all great and, done correctly, very effective. Now its time to beginning marketing your strengths as a teacher. What's your style: a type A powerhouse, a spiritual guidance counselor, an alignment junky, or a Karma clarifying dogooder? Do you find yourself attracted to classes for people with injuries or do you prefer a dripping class filled with arm balances and inversions? Most importantly, no matter what your strength, what makes you stand out from the hundreds of other teachers who are passionate about the same thing?
